Cuatrecasas has advised Plenium Partners on the financing entered into with CaixaBank and Abanca worth €530 million, for a 130 MW photovoltaic portfolio made up of 70 projects across the whole of Spain. The assets belong to the alternative investment vehicle Helia Renovables IV, launched in 2020 by Bankinter Investment and Plenium Partners.
The projects have an operational track record of over 15 years and are regulated by and benefit from the specific remuneration regime for renewable energy (RECORE).
This transaction, which confirms the financial institutions’ support for Plenium, has strengthened the position of Plenium Partners and Bankinter Investment in the renewable infrastructure market. It enables the refinancing of a considerable number of projects under a single structure, while effectively managing the regulatory and transactional challenges involved.
The Cuatrecasas advisory team was made up of finance lawyers Carlos Lasarte, Íñigo Várez, Teresa Allende and Cristina Leach.
