$120K in equipment stolen from DeKalb County solar farm construction site – WIFR

KINGSTON, Ill. (WIFR) – One man is accused of stealing from a solar farm construction site in DeKalb County.
Rick Thompson, 63, of Rockford, is charged with theft.
Around 7 a.m. Thursday, July 29, DeKalb County deputies were called to the solar farm construction site in the area of Route 72 and Pleasant Hill Road for a report of a burglary.
According to the sheriff’s office, tools and equipment were taken from one of the trailers overnight, totaling around $120,000.
Detectives say a tip led them to Rockford.
Around 1:15 p.m., police searched a home in the 4000 block of 11th Street and arrested two people.
Deputies say the stolen equipment was found at the home.
Thompson was taken to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office where he awaits a detention hearing.
