China Solar PV News Snippets: GCL Perovskite Raises RMB 100 Million+ In Series D1 Funding & More – TaiyangNews

Perovskite technology developer GCL Perovskite has completed a Series D1 funding round of more than RMB 100 million, led by Jinxin Capital and other institutional investors. The proceeds will support the commercialization of utility-scale perovskite modules and the verification of in-orbit performance of perovskite solar cells. The company has raised more than RMB 1 billion to date.
GCL Perovskite is advancing mass production at its first GW-scale manufacturing line, where its full-size 2.78 m² modules have achieved a certified conversion efficiency of 26.8%. Beyond utility-scale and BIPV applications, the company is also working with partners to conduct low-Earth orbit testing of perovskite solar cells for future aerospace applications.
Recently, GCL SI achieved a CPVT-verified certified conversion efficiency of 33.44% for its self-developed flexible perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
China’s State Administration of Civil Affairs and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) have jointly released the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) for energy conservation and carbon reduction in public institutions.
The plan targets an 8.5% reduction in carbon emissions per unit of floor area by 2030 compared with 2025 levels. It encourages rooftop PV and solar thermal deployment on all suitable existing public buildings and requires full installation on eligible new buildings.
The plan also promotes pilot applications of BIPV, smart microgrids, thermal storage, and ‘PV-Storage-Direct Current-Flexible’ (PEDF) systems. These systems will prioritize self-consumption while supporting participation in demand-side response and virtual power plant (VPP) markets.
China’s 15th Five-Year Plan targets to expand renewable energy to strengthen electricity supply while increasing the role of energy storage and grid flexibility (see China Targets 2.8 TW AC Solar & Wind In 15th Five-Year Plan).
PV module and energy storage supplier Risen Energy has received the CTF (Stage 2) Witness Testing Laboratory qualification from SGS for its energy storage laboratory.
The qualification, issued under the IECEE CB certification system, confirms the laboratory complies with ISO/IEC 17025 and IEC standards for equipment, quality management and technical capabilities. It covers the company’s full range of energy storage products, allowing witnessed test data to be directly used in internationally recognized CB certification reports. Risen Energy said the qualification will shorten certification timelines and support faster product launches in overseas markets.
China Hongqiao Group said its subsidiary Hongqiao Holdings plans to raise up to RMB 12 billion through a private share placement.
The proceeds will primarily support the development of wind and solar power projects, alongside aluminum deep-processing projects, debt repayment and working capital. The company said the fundraising will support its renewable energy expansion while strengthening power supply for its aluminum production operations.
