The weather is the new spec sheet as Kosol Energie’s newest module launch focuses on endurance over wattage. Its enhanced N-Type Glass-to-Glass panels in 600, 620 and 630 Wp variants focus on highlighting 35mm: the hail-impact diameter the modules are now qualified to survive, ten millimetres beyond the 25mm threshold that IEC 61215:2021 actually requires. The rest of the release focuses on durability claims including thermally tempered glass, higher-GSM POE encapsulation, three rounds of IEC qualification testing.  That’s a fresh, and relevant  new approach in a market where sophisticated customers are increasingly beyond the wattage numbers.  
The Efficiency Gap Has Nearly Closed
With the leading TOPCon lines and  even HJT panels — the two most visible poles of India’s N-type push — both posting cell efficiencies above 23%, the gap between the strongest modules on the market has narrowed to roughly half a percentage point to a point. At that margin, just wattage is a hard story to sell a developer or any consumer, because every brochure now says roughly the same thing. N-type silicon itself, the feature that used to be the differentiator, is fast becoming standard: the ITRPV’s 2025 roadmap projects it will account for more than 80% of global wafer production this year. With ALMM-listed module capacity nudging 200 GW, spread across a dozen large, credible manufacturers who can all legitimately claim Tier-1 status, BIS registration and IEC compliance, Kosol’s move to create a clear differentiator deserves attention.
Picking a Different Fight
By competing one layer down the spec sheet, Kosol has chosen climate stress — hail test, humidity, monsoon load. None of this shows up as a wattage number. All of it shows up as an insurance and warranty argument for slower degradation curves, defect rates, claims history — aimed at the informed customer  choosing a panel as well as the financier underwriting a 25-year asset. 
Kosol’s latest N-Type modules, besides exceeding conventional IEC qualification requirements of 25 mm hail diameter,  have successfully undergone testing at a NABL-approved IEC laboratory, demonstrating enhanced resistance against glass damage and microcracks caused by hail impact.
The company adds that the modules are manufactured using thermally tempered high-strength solar glass, providing improved mechanical strength and impact resistance. The premium Glass-to-Glass (G2G) architecture offers enhanced protection against moisture ingress, environmental stress, and long-term degradation while improving overall module reliability.
To further strengthen durability, the modules utilize higher GSM POE (Polyolefin Elastomer) encapsulation, offering superior cushioning to solar cells during transportation, vibration, thermal cycling, and hail impact. The advanced encapsulation technology helps minimize mechanical stress, ensuring sustained module performance throughout its operational life.
Additionally, the modules feature high-transmission Anti-Reflective Coated (ARC) glass, enabling greater light absorption and improved energy generation while maintaining high conversion efficiency under diverse climatic conditions.
Kosol’s enhanced N-Type G2G modules have also successfully completed 3× IEC qualification testing, validating their ability to perform consistently under demanding environmental conditions and reinforcing the company’s focus on quality, reliability, and long-term energy generation.

The newly introduced modules are available in 600 Wp, 620 Wp, and 630 Wp variants and are fully compliant with IEC 61215:2021 standards. They are also available in BIS-certified DCR configurations, including G12R and G12 models, supporting the growing demand for domestically manufactured high-performance solar modules in India.
