Tata Power Renewables, an India-based renewable energy partner, has deployed rooftop PV for Jupiter Wagons Limited. The 3.5 MW system is installed at the company’s Kolkata operations facility. It supports energy requirements for cutting, welding, fabrication, assembly, testing, and other rail and mobility manufacturing processes. Tata Power Renewables integrated the plant with existing factory infrastructure and electrical systems without interrupting ongoing industrial activity. The installation uses high-efficiency PV panels and an optimized layout across the facility’s large industrial roof areas. Safety provisions include advanced earthing systems, surge protection devices, and lightning protection mechanisms for people and equipment. The system was designed for consistent performance during monsoons and periods of low sunlight throughout the year.
