OnPath Energy, a UK based UK renewable energy developer, has started construction of the Common Farm Solar Park near Dinnington, South Yorkshire. The project combines 49 MW solar farm with battery storage across 116 hectares of farmland. The facility is expected to generate enough electricity to power around 18,800 homes each year. AECOM is managing the project with Grupotec providing engineering services. TMS Grid is building a 2,500 square metre substation to connect the site to the Thurcroft grid. Construction is expected to take 20 months with completion planned for mid-2027 and the site will also feature extensive wildflower meadow planting to support local biodiversity. The project is estimated to offer GBP 50,000 each year for local projects. In 40 years, it will be GBP 2 million.
