SEG Solar has launched its Tomball #1 solar PV module factory in the US with 4 GW annual production capacity 
It expects the facility with four production lines to start commercial production in Q3 2026 
The company is already building a third module facility in the country along with a domestic cell manufacturing plant 
SEG Solar has inaugurated its second US solar PV module manufacturing facility in Tomball, Texas, with 4 GW annual capacity. It is one of the country’s ‘largest’ heterojunction (HJT) production facilities, says SEG. 
The facility, which the company calls Tomball #1, represents an investment of $200 million. It spans more than 500,000 square feet and has an annual production capacity of 4 GW. 
Tomball #1 has four production lines for SEG’s SIERRA N series HJT modules. The lines support both 210 mm and 210R wafer formats. The facility uses HJT processes including low-temperature soldering and precision butyl sealant application, it added. SEG said commercial operations at the facility are expected to begin in Q3 2026. 
This expands the company’s total US module manufacturing capacity to 6 GW annually, as it already operates a 2 GW module fab in Texas. SEG also plans another module factory in Texas with 4.6 GW annual production capacity, also dedicated to HJT technology (see SEG Solar Plans 3rd Texas Module Factory, Targets 10.6 GW). 
Jun Zhuge, Founder and COO of SEG, said that Tomball #1 would help the company expand its manufacturing capacity to meet rising electricity demand. It also plans to establish a US cell manufacturing facility. 
By the end of 2025, SEG had shipped more than 7.5 GW of solar modules worldwide and had reached 6.5 GW of module production capacity. 
While it expands its US manufacturing capacity, SEG Solar, along with Canadian Solar, and Heliene as part of American Manufacturers for Energy Resilience (AMER), has petitioned the US DOC to investigate if solar cell imports from South Korea circumventing tariffs on Chinese products (see Waaree Hit By US Duties; South Korea AD/CVD Probe Sought).
