
LONGi has confirmed that cumulative shipments of its photovoltaic modules featuring Advanced Contact Matrix, or ACM, technology have surpassed 500 MW. The milestone comes just weeks after the vertically integrated manufacturer started mass production of ACM modules in July 2026, signaling rapid uptake of the new platform in utility and commercial projects.
The ACM architecture relies on a patented nano-alloy material and a matrix contact process that rethinks how current is collected from the cell surface. Independent testing by ISFH has certified cell efficiency at 27.6%, while TÜV Rheinland has validated a maximum module power output of 672 W for the latest ACM products.
According to LONGi, the design increases the conductive cross-sectional area of the grid lines by 5 to 7 times compared with conventional cells. This reduces electrical resistance to between one-fifth and one-seventh of standard levels and cuts the risk of grid breakage by 80%, the company says.

Mass production data shared by LONGi indicates that ACM technology lifts cell efficiency by 0.2% to 0.3% over prior generations. That translates into a module power gain of 3 W to 5 W, which can improve energy yield and reduce balance of system costs on large solar plants.
The 500 MW shipment milestone positions ACM as one of the fastest scaling high-efficiency module platforms in the current cycle, with LONGi targeting further capacity expansions to meet demand from developers seeking higher wattage and more robust cell designs.
