Singapore-headquartered clean energy platform Aquila Clean Energy APAC has broken ground on phase two of its first solar PV-fishery project in Tainan City, Taiwan. Phase two holds a capacity of 14 MW, complementing the 12.3 MW phase one to form a 26.3 MW project expected to generate more than 32 GWh of electricity annually. Solar panel installation is complete for phase one, with grid connection expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, while phase two obtained its first construction permit. The project utilizes a solar PV-fishery model, allowing fish farming and electricity generation to operate concurrently over aquaculture ponds. Initiated by the Nan Ying Aquaculture Association, the development secured project financing from Bank Sinopac earlier in 2026 as part of Aquila Clean Energy’s broader 1.6 GW regional portfolio.
