The Kendall County Health Department will host a community solar enrollment event from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 3.
The event will take place at the Kendall County Health Department, 811 W. John St., Yorkville, IL 60560.
Community Solar may help lower monthly electric bills and does not require residents to install solar panels on their homes, the health department said in a news release.
The program allows participants to receive the benefits of solar energy without putting panels on their property, the health department said.
Residents who received LIHEAP last year may already have the documentation needed to qualify, the release said.
The health department asked those who attend to bring their ComEd bill so staff can help determine eligibility.
Residents are encouraged to stop by the event to learn more about the solar energy program.
