ST. PAUL — Across the country, extensive research is underway to keep agricultural land in production while developing it for solar energy. These dual-use “agrivoltaic” systems involve studying everything from panel-created microclimates and soil health protection to capital investments and livestock and crop performance under solar arrays.
To highlight current findings, University of Minnesota Extension will host the August session of its Agrivoltaics webinar series, “Dual Yield: Agrivoltaics Research Insights,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25.
