Homeowner in Lebanon pulls 4 years of solar data, finds winter days yield less than half of summer – The Cool Down

Using several years of records from a home solar setup, a Lebanese man mapped how his system performs over the course of the year, revealing major seasonal swings in generation.
After exporting roughly four years of inverter logs into a database, the homeowner graphed the system’s output, showing not only how much electricity the panels can make but also how closely production is tied to everyday consumption.
Writing in a post to Reddit’s r/Lebanon community, the original poster said he pulled years of inverter records into an SQLite database and turned them into charts. His setup includes 12 panels, and the highest monthly output shown in the report was 6,680 kWh in August.
OP added, “I made some nice graphs out of them about solar production over time.”
One of the clearest takeaways was that sunshine is not the only factor behind output. As the original poster explained, “The caveat is unless we are consuming this much power, the solar panels will not produce that much.” Weather still matters, but so does how much electricity the household uses or can store.
In Lebanon, where years of unreliable public electricity have led many families to install private solar-and-battery systems, that kind of detail is especially useful. The seasonal contrast was also stark. OP wrote: “Winter days produce less than half of what summer days produce on average.”
With records as detailed as OP’s, households can spot trends, prepare for cloudy stretches, and make smarter decisions about when to use energy-hungry devices. Another commenter reacted to the scale of it by writing, “This is a sh*t ton of data, I was doing this manually for my usage of ishtirak and kahraba, then I burned out.”
