The Government has closed the second day of its V Trobada in Os de Balaguer with a round of visits to municipalities and infrastructures in the Lleida regions, with the Alcarràs solar park as one of the central stops on the institutional agenda.
The visit of Salvador Illa and the Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, coincides with the open debate on the Territorial Sector Plan for wind and photovoltaic electricity generation. The trip places Alcarràs at the crossroads between the energy deployment promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the territorial balance that the Government says it is seeking for the new political term.
In addition to the stop in Alcarràs for the commissioning of the solar park, the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya visited Almenar, Preixens, and Aitona during the day.
The rest of the ministers were distributed among Menàrguens, Ribera d’Ondara, Tàrrega, Guissona, Pont de Suert, Tremp, Castellnou de Seana, Camarassa, Balaguer, la Sentiu de Sió, Ivars de Noguera, Castellserà, and Cervera. With this deployment, the executive wanted to establish direct contact with the needs of very different areas of the demarcation.
In Alcarràs, the focus was on energy.
The presence of Illa and Paneque at the solar park comes months after the debate on eight parks processed separately emerged in the same municipality, a discussion that links to the territorial planning of photovoltaics in Lleida. The Government now frames the commissioning of the installation within the process of defining the sectoral plan for renewables.
During the Trobada, Illa also held a working session with the territorial delegates of the seven vegueries to identify priorities, review ongoing actions, and strengthen institutional coordination.
There, the executive outlined the strategy for the new political term, now halfway through the mandate. In this plan, the Government places strategic projects in infrastructure, security, and public services with the intention of preparing the country for the next decade and reducing territorial inequalities.
On Friday, it had already visualized another of those lines of work.
That previous act was held at the Monestir de les Avellanes and served to stage the agreement between the Government and the provincial councils on forest management and fire prevention, an area that also fully affects the regions of Lleida. In parallel, Paneque has defended in other debates on renewables the planning of the energy deployment as a territorial tool.
Illa assured that there will be intense noise ahead of the new political term and took for granted that some will have no scruples about attacking Catalonia. The president simultaneously guaranteed the fulfillment of the commitments made by the executive.
The day also saw a specific action in public services outside the strictly political axis.
The Department of Social Rights has allocated approximately 314,000 euros to renovate the Nostra Senyora de Ribera residence, in La Pobla de Segur.
