Headquartered in San Diego, EDF Power Solutions North America, a renewable energy developer active since 1987, has signed two 25-year PPAs with NV Energy for the Winston Energy Project. This includes a 400 MW AC solar farm on private land in Lyon County, Nevada, paired with a co-located 400 MW/1,600 MWh battery. The project is expected to begin delivering electricity in October 2029 and generate about 1,110,000 MWh of renewable power annually. While enough for roughly 100,000 Nevada homes, it also avoids CO2 emissions equivalent to more than 187,000 passenger vehicles driven for a year. Peak construction is expected to employ more than 400 workers, with about $100 million in local tax revenue projected over the project’s operating life. EDF Power Solutions North America has developed 26 GW of wind, solar, and storage projects across the region to date.
