The developer behind a controversial solar project in the Mackenzie Basin has stopped paying fast-track fees to buy time, after concern over the risk it poses to one of the country’s rarest birds.
If approved, Far North Solar Farm’s flagship ‘The Point’ project would feature more than 700,000 solar panels and generate electricity to power 100,000 homes.
