Tata Power Solaroof, part of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), has surpassed 500,000 rooftop solar installations across India’s residential, commercial and industrial segments.
The company had completed 519,673 installations as of July 31, 2026, accounting for a 14% share of India’s rooftop solar market, according to the company. It is targeting 3 million installations by 2029.
Tata Power Solar Rooftop said it has more than 700 channel partners and 250 authorized service partners across the country. Crisil has recognized the company as India’s No. 1 rooftop solar player for 12 consecutive years, according to Tata Power.
The company’s ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ initiative, launched in 2024, is aligned with the government’s Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The initiative has expanded to 11 states and one Union Territory — Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar and Chandigarh — covering a combined population of more than 900 million, the company said. The initiative focuses on consumer awareness, financing and access to rooftop solar systems.
For commercial and industrial customers, the company offers financing solutions through public-sector banks and NBFCs, including its SunSmart Flexi EMI scheme, which uses a ‘pay as you save’ model linked to expected solar generation.
Tata Power Solaroof said it has so far facilitated over INR 8,500 crore of financing through a network of 25+ financing partners, helping more consumers and businesses access rooftop solar solutions.
For residential customers, Tata Power’s Mysine portfolio offers battery storage systems ranging from 5 kWh to 40 kWh, enabling homeowners to store surplus solar generation and use it during evenings, nights or periods of low sunlight.
For C&I customers, the PowerHub portfolio provides scalable battery energy storage solutions ranging from 60 kWh to 5 MWh, with further scalability based on specific operational and load requirements. These systems enable businesses to optimise renewable energy consumption, manage peak power requirements and extend the use of clean power beyond solar generation hours.
