Nigeria’s procurement call covers a 100 MW solar PV facility and its grid evacuation infrastructure 
The project will be developed across two lots in the country’s Niger State 
Applications for this call, published on the IsDB website, are due by October 13, 2026 
Nigeria has launched an international competitive bidding process for the Niger State Solar Energy Development Project, which aims to install 100 MW of solar PV capacity. 
The Niger State Government, through the project’s Project Management Unit, intends to prequalify contractors for the civil works. The project is divided into two lots. Lot 1 covers the construction and installation of the 100 MW solar PV power generation facility in Maikunkele, Bosso LGA.
Lot 2 covers the construction of the grid interconnection and evacuation infrastructure needed for the project. 
The government has applied for Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) financing for the project and plans to use part of the proceeds to make contract payments.   
After evaluating the bids received, the government plans to invite bids in January 2027. 
The prequalification notice was issued on September 1, 2026. Applications must be submitted by October 13, 2026.  
According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Nigeria’s total installed solar PV capacity at the end of 2025 was 285 MW.
