LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council approved zoning changes on Thursday that will regulate how land is used and developed for solar projects in Fayette County.
In an 8-7 vote, the council reinstated language from an August meeting allowing intermediate- and large-scale ground-mounted solar projects in agricultural zones.
The projects would require a conditional use permit and could cover up to one percent of the county’s acreage.
The council also approved the final text amendment during the meeting.
