ACME Solar has commissioned 66.68 MW of solar capacity as the first phase of its 300 MW solar project, which forms part of its first hybrid renewable energy project combining 300 MW of solar capacity with 100 MW of wind capacity. The solar project is located in Kelan village in Bikaner district of Rajasthan, and has been developed through ACME Solar’s subsidiary, ACME Renewtech. The project is backed by a power purchase agreement (PPA) with NTPC Ltd and long-term project financing from Power Finance Corp. (PFC).
ACME Solar expects to commission the full 300 MW solar capacity by the end of Q3 FY27. Following this commissioning, the company’s operational renewable energy capacity has reached approximately 3,057 MW.
Separately, ACME Solar, through its subsidiary ACME Greentech Seventh, has commissioned Phase-I of the BESS component of its Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project at the same site. The commissioned phase comprises 53.63 MW/300 MWh of the project’s planned total BESS capacity of 300 MW/1,581 MWh.
The FDRE project marks ACME Solar’s first assured off-peak power supply project. It is backed by a PPA with SJVN Ltd, while long-term project financing has been secured from REC. ACME Solar expects to commission the entire BESS capacity for the project by Q3 of the current fiscal year.
With this commissioning, ACME Solar has crossed 4 GWh milestone in operational BESS capacity with total operational capacity of 4.16 GWh.
