CVC DIF, the infrastructure business of global private markets manager CVC, has completed its acquisition of the Gabriela project. It is an utility-scale hybrid PV-BESS project comprising 272 MW of installed a solar capacity and 1,100 MWh of battery storage in Northern Chile, acquired from Spanish clean energy producer Grenergy. The deal was first announced in September 2025, and structured to close once the project reached commercial operations, a milestone it has now achieved. Gabriela is backed by 15-year, USD-denominated, inflation-indexed hybrid power purchase agreement. CVC DIF said the project benefits from Chile’s regulatory framework for storage investments. CVC DIF Partner and Head of Renewable Energy Caine Bouwmeester said the deal marks an important step for the firm in Chile, combining large-scale solar generation with storage to deliver reliable energy and enhance the flexibility and resilience of the Chilean grid.
