Gülermak Renewables has completed the acquisition of the 69MW ready-to-build Powidz 2 solar photovoltaic project in Poland.
The London-based company said the purchase takes its European portfolio beyond 400MW and underlines its commitment to build a major new independent renewable energy platform.
Gülermak added that the grid-ready greenfield site in the Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) region was bought for an undisclosed sum and lies immediately adjacent to its existing 5MW Powidz 1 solar scheme.
Earlier this month, Gülermak announced the PLN152.9 million (c. £30.4 million) financial close for Project Vistula, its 62.7MW portfolio of solar photovoltaic projects in Poland, which includes the Powidz 1 scheme.
The EPC tender process for Powidz 2 will open soon, with construction timetabled for Q4 2027 and first power in 2029.
“This deal underlines the attractiveness of the Polish market and our appetite to own and operate high-quality energy assets across Europe,” said Gülermak Renewables chief executive Türkekul Dogan.
“Poland is a core market alongside the UK and Germany, where we see significant opportunities to build and scale a diversified renewable energy portfolio, and we also aim to expand our footprint into Romania and Italy.
“Our ambition is to establish a strong presence in each of these key European markets and build a leading platform that supports the continent’s energy transition.”
