Jinko Solar showcases Tiger Neo 3.0 and BESS amid shifting solar dynamics in Brazil – Review Energy

Jinko Solar, one of the world’s leading photovoltaic module manufacturers, returned to Intersolar South America 2026 in São Paulo from August 25 to 27, showcasing its latest solar and energy storage technologies as the Latin American market continues to evolve.
Among the main highlights of the company’s presence was Tiger Neo 3.0, the latest generation of JinkoSolar’s Tiger Neo module family. Based on the company’s N-type TOPCon technology, the new platform is designed to deliver higher efficiency, increased energy generation and long-term performance.
Jinko Solar also showcased its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions, reflecting the growing role of energy storage alongside solar generation as markets across the region seek greater flexibility and more efficient use of renewable power.
But beyond its technology portfolio, Brazil was at the centre of JinkoSolar’s participation in the event. Speaking with Review Energy in São Paulo, Alberto Cuter, Vice President of JinkoSolar for Latin America & Italy, discussed the current challenges facing the Brazilian photovoltaic market and the opportunities emerging across its different segments.
According to Cuter, Brazil has gone through a particularly challenging period in the utility-scale segment, with constraints affecting some projects already in operation.
“Utility projects are a little bit standing,” he said, while stressing that JinkoSolar continues to see opportunities in the country and maintains the confidence of its customers. The executive also pointed to a new large-scale project that will use Jinko Solar modules and is being developed by one of the company’s major customers in Brazil.
While utility-scale solar is facing a more difficult environment, distributed generation (DG) continues to offer opportunities. Cuter described the Brazilian DG market as “very, very interesting” and said he expects it to perform even better over the coming year.
Brazil remains one of JinkoSolar’s most important markets globally and has historically been a key market for the company in Latin America. However, the competitive environment has changed significantly over the past two years as more suppliers have entered the market.
For Cuter, this has contributed to an environment increasingly driven by price competition, sometimes at the expense of product quality.
While Brazil is still a price sensitive market where dominated by low quality modules, other like Mexico, Colombia are focusing on quality products. Understanding the importance to offer to the final customer service and products of high quality.
Mexico gains importance in JinkoSolar’s regional outlook
While Brazil remains the largest solar market in Latin America, JinkoSolar is increasingly looking to other markets across the region for future growth.
Among them, Mexico is gaining particular relevance, especially in the utility-scale segment.
Cuter highlighted the company’s expectations for the Mexican market following the results of the country’s first auction and ahead of the next one. In his view, the market could play a central role in the next phase of large-scale solar development in Latin America.
“I think Mexico will be the largest market for utility projects over the next two or three years,” Cuter said.
The outlook reinforces JinkoSolar’s broader focus on the region, combining its established presence in Brazil with emerging opportunities in markets such as Mexico, while technologies such as Tiger Neo 3.0 and BESS become increasingly important as Latin America’s solar sector enters a new phase.
