Solar PV, BESS investment, policy reforms to dominate Lahore conclave – Business Recorder

LAHORE: Investment opportunities in solar photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), evolving net-metering policies and regulatory challenges will come under discussion at the 3rd International Solar Power Conclave & Solar Technology Excellence Awards 2026 on September 24 in Lahore.
Organised by Energy Update, the conclave will bring together policymakers, government representatives, energy experts, investors, solar industry leaders and technology providers to deliberate on the future of solar power and energy storage in Pakistan. Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan will attend the event as chief guest.
Two key panel discussions will focus on “Investment Opportunities in Solar PV and Battery Storage System (BESS)” and “Solar in Pakistan – Challenges, Policy Reforms & the Way Forward.” Discussions will cover investment and financing opportunities, emerging business models, commercial and industrial applications, grid integration, distributed generation, net metering and potential policy reforms. Technical sessions will also examine BESS, solar technologies, system efficiency, energy management and grid integration.
Prominent participants include Faizan Ali Shah, Advisor to Minister Energy (Power Division); Adil Mehmood, Chairman Pakistan Solar Association; Mian Fahad, Regional Director TBEA China; Muhammad Zakir Ali, CEO Inverex Solar Energy; Dr Naveed Arshad, Director Energy Institute LUMS; Zohaib ul Haq, Technical Service Manager Growatt Pakistan; and senior representatives of the solar and energy-storage industry.
With the theme “Solar PV, Net Metering & BESS: Powering Pakistan’s Next Energy Revolution,” the event will also feature the Solar Technology Excellence Awards 2026, recognising companies and professionals for contributions to solar technology, innovation and deployment in Pakistan.
The conclave is being held amid rapid growth in distributed solar generation and growing debate over grid management, net metering, regulation and the role of energy storage.
