Heliene today launches a new solar panel for the residential market — Heliene 108HC All-Black. The module will use American-made polysilicon, wafers and solar cells, bringing a fully American solar panel to the residential market for the first time.
Sunrun has executed a purchase agreement of the Heliene 108HC All-Black module for residential solar projects across the country.
“We applaud Heliene for bringing more U.S. solar manufacturing online,” said Nick Smallwood, Sunrun’s Senior Vice President of Global Procurement. “Investment in the production of domestic modules strengthens supply-chain resilience and supports Sunrun’s strategy of maintaining a diversified, domestic, supplier base.”
Heliene operates solar panel assembly facilities in Minnesota and has supply relationships with Hemlock for polysilicon, Corning for wafers and Suniva for cells.
“Working with Sunrun allows us to invest in the domestic supply chain for rooftop solar,” said David Reasenberg, Chief Commercial Officer of Heliene. “Through this purchase agreement, more of the materials and manufacturing that go into powering American homes can happen here at home, strengthening our energy security while also keeping rooftop solar affordable for American families.”
