Maxwell Power announced on October 1, 2026, the closing of an $800 million investment commitment from Fairtide Partners, according to a company press release. The capital is designated for the purchase of battery storage and solar power projects.
The new commitment follows earlier Fairtide investments of $250 million in 2024 and $750 million in June 2026, bringing Fairtide’s total commitment to $1.8 billion for projects developed by Maxwell.
Maxwell said it will use the capital to help consumers and small businesses lock in energy savings through solar power and battery storage. The company stated that in 2026 it has already helped customers secure more than $100 million in future energy savings, which it described as relief for Americans facing rising prices, including higher energy costs.
Dustin Dunaway, Maxwell’s Chief Revenue Officer, commented that rising rates and aging infrastructure are making energy more expensive and less reliable across the country, and that the company’s full-service home solar and battery storage offers homeowners a way to protect themselves from rising power costs.
According to the release, Maxwell is thriving while the broader solar industry faces pressure, citing its financial backing and track record. With the latest funding, Maxwell plans to expand the Maxwell Power Plan to new markets to make it easier for more customers to save on energy.
Nat Kreamer, Fairtide’s founder and lifetime chairman emeritus of the Solar Energy Industries Association, described Maxwell as an economic force multiplier and said that amid rising interest rates and regulatory change, Fairtide is helping Maxwell deliver value to consumers and channel partners.
Maxwell also said it fulfilled a promise to U.S. Senator John Curtis (R-Utah), a supporter of affordable domestic renewable energy, by relocating its headquarters to Salt Lake City, Utah, from San Diego, California. The company said its employees now work in the heart of the Hive near the historic stock exchange.
Maxwell describes itself as a power company that guarantees energy and savings to homeowners and small commercial customers. It deploys solar and battery storage systems at customer homes, monitors and maintains those systems, and ensures they deliver power. Customers purchase power on long-term contracts that lock in savings. Since 2018, Maxwell said it has invested over $1.5 billion to help customers save an estimated $300 million.
Fairtide Partners makes infrastructure, tax equity, and private equity investments. The firm said it has facilitated financing of more than $1 billion in battery storage and solar energy projects since 2018. Its private equity portfolio includes AMP for the waste industry and Highland for fleet vehicle electrification. Fairtide’s managing partners have over 40 years of combined experience as entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and policy advocates.
