Australian solar tile company Volt is expanding to include a build, own, operate renewable energy infrastructure business, and has opened a crowd-sourced funding offer to investors.
Open until 15 October 2026, the offer is the company’s next step to complement its solar tile solution, with products installed in six countries in Europe and South America, and which has generated $2.38 million in cumulative revenue since commercial launch.
Volt Chief Executive Officer Peter Leeson said Volt is building something different; a pure-play renewable energy business.
“And we’re opening that up to everyday Australians. If you previously wanted exposure to renewable energy infrastructure in Australia, your options were the big utilities that also own gas plants and retail businesses,” Leeson said.
Volt is led by Peter Leeson, who has spent 12 years developing over 500 MW of renewable energy projects across regional Australia in his prior roles at Leeson Group, including Girgarre, Robinvale and Cohuna Solar Farms, and Corop Solar and Battery Farm which was awarded underwriting under the federal government Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS).
