Sungrow FPV, a floating photovoltaic system solutions provider headquartered in Hefei, China, has fully grid-connected a 6.5 MW floating solar project in Sri Lanka. The project uses local water surfaces for solar generation without occupying additional land. Sungrow FPV said the floating installation also helps reduce water evaporation while supplying renewable electricity to the local grid. The company provided its floating photovoltaic technology for the development. Sungrow FPV focuses on floating PV system solutions, including floating structures, inverter platforms and anchoring systems. The company said its team worked with contractors and local collaborators to complete the project. The announcement did not disclose the project’s exact location, owner, investment value, module supplier or expected annual electricity generation.
