Solex Energy Bags ₹75.96 Crore Order for TOPCon Solar Modules – mvapulse.com

⚡ Quick Read
As the Indian renewable energy sector pivots toward higher efficiency standards, the demand for advanced photovoltaic technology has surged. Solex Energy, a Surat-based solar manufacturer, has reinforced its market position by securing a significant work order valued at ₹75.96 crore. This contract involves the supply of high-performance n-type TOPCon G12R glass-to-glass solar PV modules, signaling a broader industry shift away from traditional PERC technology toward more efficient n-type architectures.
The order specifies the supply of 620 Wp n-type TOPCon G12R glass-to-glass modules. These modules are engineered for high power output and enhanced durability, making them suitable for utility-scale solar applications where long-term performance is critical. Solex Energy manufactures these units at its Industry 4.0-enabled, fully automated facility located in Tadkeshwar, Gujarat. The company currently boasts an annual PV module production capacity of 4 GW. Furthermore, the modules are compliant with rigorous international and domestic standards, including IEC, CE, UL, CEC, BIS, EPD, and the Kiwa PVEL 2026 certification. Crucially, these products are listed under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), ensuring they meet the stringent domestic content requirements for government-backed projects.
For EPC contractors and solar developers, the availability of high-wattage n-type TOPCon modules is a game-changer. These modules offer a lower levelized cost of energy (LCOE) by providing higher power density per square meter, which reduces the balance-of-system (BoS) costs for large-scale solar farms. The glass-to-glass configuration also offers superior protection against environmental degradation, such as potential-induced degradation (PID) and moisture ingress, which is vital for projects located in India’s diverse and often harsh climatic conditions.
The successful execution of this order will likely bolster Solex Energy’s order book and demonstrate the scalability of its 4 GW production line. As India aims to achieve its ambitious 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity target by 2030, the reliance on high-efficiency, ALMM-listed modules will continue to grow. Developers and EPCs should monitor the pricing trends of n-type TOPCon technology as domestic manufacturers ramp up production to compete with global suppliers, ultimately driving down costs and improving project viability across the Indian renewable energy sector.
