Sonnedix, a Spain-based renewable energy company, has acquired two operating solar PV plants in Italy, which together have a capacity of 54 MW. The seller is EOS ReNewable Infrastructure Fund II, which is managed by EOS IM. The larger of the two plants is the 46.5 MW Macchiareddu project, which is located in the Province of Cagliari in Sardinia. The other is the 7.5 MW Aprilia project, and it is situated in the Province of Latina in Lazio. Because both of the plants are already fully operational, the company has said that the purchase has raised its operational portfolio in Italy to more than 1.3 GW. Sonnedix has described Italy as a core market, and it is growing there through acquisitions, development and investments in hybridisation and battery storage. In July, the company announced the acquisition of a 260 MW BESS portfolio in Tuscania.
