Gopin Semicon Private Limited has become the new entrant in India’s enlisted solar sale manufacturers’ list. As per the latest Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM)-II, meant for solar cells, this Surat-based company has joined the leagues of selected solar manufacturers from India who are making solar cells for the Indian market.
As per the enlistment details, the company got enlistment of its N-type TOPCon solar cell model under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II for solar photovoltaic (PV) cells. According to MNRE’s 12th revision of ALMM List-I, the company has been enlisted with an annual manufacturing capacity of 402 MW at its facility in Gopin Industrial Park, Segva, Kamrej, Surat, Gujarat. The listing is valid until October 7, 2030.
The inclusion marks a regulatory milestone for the company, bringing its listed solar cell model under the government’s ALMM framework, subject to applicable requirements.
Gopin Semicon’s listed product is the GSPL_G12R, an N-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar cell based on the G12R format. According to the MNRE document, the cell measures 210 mm × 182.2 mm, with a dimensional tolerance of ±0.25 mm, and features a 16-busbar configuration. The manufacturer has also declared the cell to be free from potential-induced degradation (PID).
The model has an average solar cell efficiency of 25.57% and average wattage of 9.78 W, according to the ALMM listing. Its declared efficiency range is 24.60% to 25.70%, while the wattage range is 9.41 W to 9.82 W. MNRE has clarified that the efficiency and wattage ranges, as well as the PID-free claim, are based on information provided by the manufacturer.
The ALMM listing establishes the eligibility of the specified cell model and manufacturing facility under the applicable framework. However, it does not independently confirm that the facility has commenced commercial production or is operating at its full enlisted capacity. The 402 MW figure represents the manufacturing capacity enlisted for the unit in this revision and should not be added to figures from previous revisions.
Gopin Semicon’s entry comes amid the expansion of India’s domestic solar PV cell manufacturing base, with established manufacturers and new entrants seeking to scale production of higher-efficiency technologies. The latest ALMM revision also records changes involving other manufacturers, including a revision to the listed efficiency and wattage ranges of RenewSys India’s solar cells and a capacity addition for bifacial mono-crystalline PERC cells manufactured by Premier Energies Photovoltaic Private Limited.
The addition of Gopin Semicon brings another Gujarat-based manufacturer into ALMM List-II, with its listed product focused on N-type TOPCon technology. The company’s manufacturing facility is located at Kamrej, Surat, Gujarat.
Gopin Semicon is associated with the Gujarat-based Gopin Group, a privately held business group linked to businessman Lavjibhai Daliya. The group has described interests spanning real estate, investments and other business activities. The solar-cell manufacturing venture represents an expansion into a segment of the renewable energy supply chain that has received increasing policy attention as India seeks to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities.
The MNRE document does not disclose Gopin Semicon’s ownership structure, total project investment, financing arrangements, production-line suppliers, customer agreements or commercial production schedule.
