October 13, 2026 (MLN): The remaining 3.0-megawatt (MW) renewable energy system has been commissioned at Kohinoor Mills Limited (PSX: KML), taking the company’s total solar energy generation capacity at its manufacturing facility to 10.2MW, according to a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
More than 20% of the company’s operational electricity needs are now being met through the solar photovoltaic system.
The expansion is expected to reduce unit energy costs, lower exposure to government-related grid tariff volatility, and support national objectives by decreasing reliance on imported fuels and associated carbon emissions.
The latest commissioning follows the company’s update of December 10, 2025, when the remaining 2.7MW solar photovoltaic system was completed at the facility.
That addition lifted total solar capacity to 7.2MW, also meeting more than 20% of operational electricity needs through renewable energy.
At that time, management had approved the installation of an additional 3MW solar system by the end of the current financial year, to advance the company’s sustainability and efficiency goals.
