Pisgah Energy has finished a third solar project for Vanguard Furniture, continuing a multi-year partnership between the North Carolina-based businesses.
Building on two earlier solar investments in Conover, North Carolina, Pisgah has completed a 848-kW rooftop system at Vanguard’s manufacturing facility in Hillsville, Virginia. The project should offset 95% of the craft furniture building’s electricity usage.
“Pisgah Energy has been an outstanding partner as we’ve expanded solar across our facilities,” said Andy Bray, Vanguard Furniture CEO and President, “This project reflects our commitment to responsible stewardship and investing in solutions that strengthen our business for the long term.”
Pisgah Energy was the lead designer/developer and served as the primary contractor during project construction. The solar project features SEG Solar panels and SolarEdge inverters.
“It’s almost unheard of for a manufacturing facility to offset most of its electricity usage with solar, and we’re proud to be a part of this milestone achievement for Vanguard Furniture. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, it’s an honor to partner with a company so deeply committed to using renewable energy to produce its wares,” said Evan Becka, president of Pisgah Energy.
Vanguard’s environmental commitment also includes recycling 95% of its post-manufacturing waste, from wood and fabric scraps to metal, paper and packaging. Its emphasis on furniture built to last for generations connects responsible production with lasting product value.
