Qcells has unveiled plans to introduce updated models of its home solar modules equipped with aluminum frames that undergo extrusion, anodizing and fabrication processes in Tennessee.
The company will make domestic-frame choices available for its Q.TRON AC and Q.PEAK DUO AC panels across the United States. These frames are intended to assist in satisfying minimum domestic content thresholds for specific third-party owned solar installations.
Il Hyeong No, who heads Qcells North Americas Residential Business, stated that the firm remains dedicated to backing American-produced clean energy goods and the domestic supply chain supporting them. He noted that through this collaboration to manufacture modules using domestically made frames, the company is advancing its dedication to U.S. manufacturing, promoting clean and reasonably priced energy, and providing customers with the assurance required to secure the domestic content bonus for their projects.
The frames come from a partnership with ALUKO Group, which handles extrusion, anodizing and fabrication at its production site in Halls, Tennessee. That facility is anticipated to reach full production by the close of 2026, with an intended yearly capacity sufficient to supply frames for 4 GW of solar panels. ALUKO intends to generate 285 new full-time positions and put over $107 million into Tennessee over a five-year period.
Jinwoo Park, President of ALUKO Group, expressed pride in assisting Qcells with strengthening the U.S. solar manufacturing supply chain. He explained that by conducting extrusion, anodizing and fabrication within the United States, the company provides a product delivering clarity and assurance throughout every stage of the process, and that this partnership demonstrates what can be achieved when manufacturers commit across the entire domestic supply chain.
