R.Power completes 55MWp Romanian solar project – reNEWS

R.Power has completed construction of its 55MWp Lazuri solar project in Satu Mare County, north-western Romania, with energisation planned by the end of 2026.
The European independent power producer said the high-voltage project comprises 88,708 PV modules and six medium-voltage stations.
R.Power added that the facility is expected to generate around 70GWh annually once operational, equivalent to the electricity consumption of more than 44,000 households.
The Lazuri development is one of Romania’s largest solar farms by installed capacity and has secured a 15-year Contract for Difference (CfD) from the Romanian authorities.
The project was financed through a €44 million project finance facility signed by R.Power in June 2026 with ING Bank NV and UniCredit Bank SA.
The financing covers a portfolio of four PV projects in Romania with a combined capacity of approximately 75MWp.
Lazuri forms part of R.Power’s 1.5GW pipeline of solar, hybrid and energy storage projects in Romania.
R.Power country head for Romania Florin Federenciuc said: “Completing construction works at Lazuri is an important milestone for R.Power’s Romanian solar portfolio.”
“The project has moved efficiently from development through financing and construction, and we are now preparing for energisation and the start of operations.”
“Romania remains a key market in our CEE strategy, and we look forward to Lazuri contributing utility-scale clean energy to the grid.”
