Morocco Opens Tender For 350 MW Solar PV Projects – TaiyangNews

Morocco has opened a qualification round for at least 350 MW of solar PV capacity
Six installations, under the NOOR PV Multisites program, will have individual capacities ranging from 40 MW to 170 MW
Masen will accept applications from eligible companies until November 30, 2026
Morocco has opened a call for the deployment of at least 350 MW solar PV capacity spread across six installations under the NOOR PV Multisites program.
The request for qualification (RFQ) round is open to EPC and O&M companies for ground-mounted solar installations to be located in five regions, namely Casablanca-Settat, Béni Mellal-Khénifra, Marrakech-Safi, Souss-Massa and Guelmim-Oued Noun.
Eligible projects will need to range within 40 MW to 170 MW installed capacity. Together, the projects will have a combined capacity of 350 MW. As per local media reports, the multisite program is aimed at expanding solar PV capacity geographically, harnessing the country’s solar potential and contributing to the national electricity system.
The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen) will accept submissions latest by November 30, 2026. Details for the RFQ are available on its website for the tender with reference number RFQ/15/2026/MASEN.
According to the Imal Initiative for Climate and Development, Morocco aims to more than triple its renewable energy capacity to over 15 GW by 2030, with renewables accounting for 52% of its electricity mix. The country also plans to phase out coal by 2040, expand energy storage, strengthen its electricity grid, and enhance regional interconnections.
At the end of 2025, Morocco’s total installed renewable energy capacity had reached 4.85 GW, including 546 MW of solar PV, as per the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
