Morocco has launched international bids for the building and operating four to six solar plants with a combined capacity of at least 350 MW, with commercial operations expected late 2028.
The tender seeks to select interested companies or consortiums for the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC), and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) multiple photovoltaic solar plants across the Kingdom.
These projected solar plants are part of the Noor PV Multi-sites program designed to harness the Kingdom’s renewable energy potential and consolidate an energy development model that combines energy transition, local integration and value creation.
According to Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN), the projected solar plants are planned in the regions of Casablanca-Settat, Béni Mellal-Khénifra, Marrakech-Safi, Souss-Massa and Guelmim-Oued Noun.
This project is part of Morocco efforts made to raise the share of renewable energy in its installed electricity generation capacity to 52% by 2030. To date, the North African Kingdom has around 900 MW of utility-scale solar capacity in operation.
