NTPC Renewable Energy, a renewable energy arm of India-based NTPC, has invited bids from contractors who will build a 900 MW solar PV project near Kurnool. The package includes land, which means that the contractor will also have to acquire the site for the plant and for a battery that NTPC REL will own. Once the plant has been built and commissioned, the contractor will operate and maintain it for three years. The scope of work also covers a dedicated 400 kV transmission line, which will carry the power to the pooling substation of the Kurnool Solar Project. Only crystalline bifacial modules may be used, and the modules and their cells must both be taken from the ALMM lists of the Government of India. Every bid must be backed by a bid security of INR 50 crore (~ $5.26 million), and the bids are due by 16 November 2026.
