JinkoSolar, a Chinese solar module maker, has launched a 510 W all-black panel for residential use, built on its recently introduced TOPCon-based Amorphous-Si Passivating Cell (TAC) platform. That technology merges TOPCon electron-selective contacts, amorphous silicon heterojunction passivation and a back-contact electrode design.
The JKM485-510T line is intended for premium home installations, such as villas and properties with constrained roof area, where power density, visual appeal and durability over time matter most, according to the company.
JinkoSolar said the 48-cell Tiger Neo 5.0 module achieves a peak conversion efficiency of 25.52% and adopts a monofacial, dual-glass construction. Its dimensions are 1,762 mm by 1,134 mm by 30 mm, it weighs 22 kg, and its maximum power density is about 255 W/m2.
The manufacturer stated that it merged multiple technologies to boost power density and enhance appearance. Its Gapless Cell Array (GCA) approach removes the usual spaces between cells, while hidden interconnections and busbars shrink inactive regions. JinkoSolar says this raises the effective light-capturing area by roughly 2%, yielding an extra 10 W of output.
Another feature, Uniform Matrix Interconnection (UMI), swaps conventional printed main busbars for distributed electrical links. According to JinkoSolar, this layout shortens current routes, cuts resistive losses and allows interconnection steps that exert less mechanical strain on cells.
To improve looks, the company applied its All Consistent Color (ACC) technology, which pairs tight control of coating thickness and refractive index with AI-assisted sorting of cells. The method is meant to reduce noticeable color discrepancies among cells, encapsulation materials and the frame, giving a more even black appearance.
The panel also incorporates Full-Spectrum Light Trapping (FLT) technology, which draws on surface texturing, antireflective coatings and rear-side reflection to enhance light use when sunlight arrives at an angle or irradiance is low.
The module’s power temperature coefficient stands at -0.24% per degree Celsius, versus roughly -0.26% per degree Celsius for earlier TOPCon products from JinkoSolar. The manufacturer further claims the new panel provides around 30 W more power than standard back-contact modules of similar size.
On durability, JinkoSolar added a Perimeter Moisture Barrier (PMB) that uses butyl-based edge sealing to curb moisture entry and the corrosion risk that comes with it. The module also carries a refined current-shunting design intended to curb power losses and lessen hot-spot hazards when shading is partial.
Per its technical documentation, JinkoSolar backs the module with a 40-year product warranty and a 40-year linear power output warranty.
Charlie Cao, JinkoSolar’s CEO, said the goal for Tiger Neo 5.0 was to create a panel suited to premium residential rooftops.
The new residential module broadens the Tiger Neo 5.0 range, which already features larger-format TOPCon modules launched in June 2026 with outputs beyond 700 W and efficiencies reaching 25.91%.
JinkoSolar has named Europe and Australia as target markets for residential use. It has not yet revealed commercial availability, pricing or production volumes for the new TAC-based module.
