Virya Energy, a Belgium-based sustainable energy company, has secured the financing that it needs to build and operate the 135 MW Żabice PV solar farm in Lower Silesia, Poland. The lenders are mBank and Bank Millennium, and the first tranche of their financing has already been drawn. The Country Manager of Virya Energy Polska has said that the drawdown allows the company to meet its obligations to the module suppliers and the general contractor on time. The electrical infrastructure of the farm is to be energised for the first time in April 2027, before the full start-up of the plant. Dentons, which advised the banks, has said that the farm should become operational in the second half of 2027. The farm should then produce about 144 GWh a year, and it will add solar to the Polish portfolio of Virya Energy, which already includes operating wind farms.
