Poland-based independent power producer R.Power is planning to finalise construction of its 55 MW Lazuri solar plant in Satu Mare County, northwestern Romania. The plant is expected to be energised by the end of 2026. It comprises nearly 89,000 solar modules and is expected to generate around 70 GWh of electricity annually. This is equivalent to the electricity consumption of more than 44,000 Romanian households. The project has secured a 15-year Contract for Difference (CfD). ING Bank N.V. and UniCredit Bank S.A. provided €41.6 million in financing for four solar projects totalling 75 MW in Romania. Lazuri is part of R.Power’s 1.5 GW project portfolio in the country. The company is preparing the plant for grid connection and commercial operation.
