Construction has started at the 46 MW Brecks Solar Farm in Nottinghamshire, England, which is being built by Qair, a France-based independent renewable energy company. Brecks is also the first project that Qair has taken into construction in the UK. Once the farm is in operation, it is expected to generate about 46.08 GWh of electricity a year, which would be enough for the equivalent of 8,927 homes. That output, according to Qair, should avoid around 14,866 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year. The revenue of the farm has been secured by a government-backed Contract for Difference, which Qair won in Allocation Round 7 in February 2026. Its financing was completed in June 2026, when Qair reached financial close with senior debt from BayernLB. The farm is scheduled to begin operation in the second quarter of 2027.
