Solar Panels Against The Deep Blue Sky
EPHRATA — Grant County commissioners have approved a development agreement for a massive solar energy project near Wanapum Dam, advancing plans for a 260-megawatt solar facility and battery storage system while establishing protections for one of Washington’s rarest snakes.
The unanimous approval Monday, Oct. 19, marks another significant milestone for the Royal Slope Solar Project, which has been under development for approximately five years. The agreement establishes construction standards, environmental safeguards and financial obligations for the developer, Royal Slope Solar LLC, a subsidiary of Clearway Energy Group.
