On October 17–18, 2026, Jinko’s Global Technology Day conference was held in Shanghai, attracting more than 400 customers from over 100 countries. The event featured systematic presentations on industry analysis, strategic focus, technology roadmaps, and ecosystem development, sparking widespread discussion across the technology and industrial sectors. Keynote speeches covered the release of roadmaps, an in-depth look at TAC technology, and the introduction of new products. The event presented a narrative of the new wave in the solar-storage and AI industries to global customers:
First, the photovoltaic industry is reaching a “tipping point” in its transition from a cost-driven to a value-driven model. For a long time, technology, scale, and cost have been the primary battlegrounds for PV companies. However, as technology matures, efficiency limits are approached, and PV becomes widely adopted, the focus of competition has shifted from supply and demand to specific application scenarios. This shift in focus—from “universal solutions applicable everywhere” to “specialized solutions tailored to specific scenarios”—is not only an inevitable outcome of technological implementation but also marks the beginning of a new long-wave cycle of demand. A scenario-based tiered pricing system will gradually take shape. Traditional workshops will transform into “AI-enabled factories” capable of diversified manufacturing, evolving from traditional capital expenditure projects into production systems that directly generate revenue.
Second, as the AI ecosystem drives a surge in computing power demand, tokens have become a critical factor of production. The concepts of the “Token Energy Economy” and “Interstellar Factories”: Faced with physical constraints such as electricity and land, future industries will directly convert solar power into computing power. Competition in the solar sector will no longer be limited to power generation per watt (kWh/kW), but rather to how many tokens are generated per watt (Token/kW). Competition in computing power will hinge on token production efficiency, the proportion of green electricity, and the cost advantages of green electricity.
Third, the conference raised the profile of the “integrated PV-storage-AI” concept and promoted a full-stack product portfolio. The announcements at the conference went beyond mere product performance upgrades; instead, they unfolded as a coordinated strategy centered on battery technology architecture iteration and ecosystem optimization, aiming to provide a full-stack solution spanning from underlying battery and cell technology platforms to the top-level ecosystem—and from R&D to real-world implementation.
Li Xiande, Chairman of JinkoSolar: As we enter the AI era, the energy industry is transitioning toward a new model—”from watts to tokens.” JinkoSolar will continue to push the boundaries of technology, leverage AI to enhance management and customer service, and expand into new growth areas such as the integration of solar and storage, as well as the synergy between computing and power.
Cao Haiyun, CEO of JinkoSolar: Looking ahead, we will deepen collaboration with various intelligent entities to build JinkoSolar into a continuously learning and iterating intelligent enterprise. At the same time, we will continue to advance our strategy based on the three pillars of technological innovation, globalization, and AI transformation, fully supporting the realization of integrated photovoltaic-storage systems.
Dr. Jin Hao, CTO of JinkoSolar: Currently, the efficiency of JinkoSolar’s TAC cells has surpassed 28%, and we continue to support mass production upgrades through technological innovation. He anticipates that in the next two to three years, stacked cells will enter mass production, with efficiency expected to exceed 33%.
Dr. Zhang Xinyu, Vice President of R&D at JinkoSolar: The TAC (Tunneling Passivated Back Contact) technology is based on a technical architecture of “capture, generation, transmission, and output.” Through key innovations such as a broad-spectrum light-trapping structure, a high-purity homogeneous silicon substrate, and a global passivation process, it synergistically enhances solar energy utilization, carrier generation and transport, and power output efficiency, driving continuous breakthroughs in crystalline silicon cell efficiency.
Zang Pengfei, General Manager of Technical Services at JinkoSolar: “The new-generation, high-end residential flagship Tiger Neo 5.0 module is built on the TAC technology platform. With a power output of up to 510W and an efficiency of 25.52%, it blends seamlessly into building rooftops thanks to over 95% cell coverage and a unified, all-black aesthetic.”
Zhang Chi, Director of Product Management at Jinko Energy Storage: The SunTera G4 has become the world’s highest-energy-density standard 20-foot-sized large-scale energy storage product currently on the market. The SunGiga G2/G2 Plus serves commercial and industrial applications with five-level safety protection, while active grid-support technology further enhances the energy storage system’s ability to support the power grid.
This year’s Technology Day also brought together global partners, research institutions, and guests from the industrial and financial sectors. Centered on three major themes—“Next-Generation Photovoltaic-Storage Solutions,” “Strategic Research and Cutting-Edge Innovation,” and “Computing-Power Synergy and Electricity Market Optimization”—participants exchanged insights on cutting-edge topics such as stacked cells, advanced materials, space photovoltaics, and AI, jointly exploring new opportunities for technological breakthroughs and industrial collaboration.
