Solex Energy unveils India’s first Quarter Cell TOPCon solar module – Power Peak Digest

Solex Energy Limited has launched what it describes as India’s first Quarter Cell Solar Module built on N-Type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) technology.
The module, branded TAPI RQ, was unveiled at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2026 in Greater Noida. The launch marks the company’s third consecutive year of introducing a differentiated solar product at the exhibition.
Product details
Designed for large-scale installations, the TAPI RQ offers power output of up to 670 Wp and module efficiency of up to 24.80%. It combines Quarter Cell architecture with N-Type technology and is engineered to deliver higher energy generation, stronger performance and long-term reliability. The module has an IP68-rated junction box that protects against dust and water ingress, which makes it suited to utility-scale and high-capacity projects.
At REI 2024, Solex introduced what it called India’s first solar module using rectangular cells. At REI 2025, it unveiled the concept of India’s first Rear Contact Solar Module, TAPI Rear Contact.
Management view
Dr. Chetan Shah, Chairman & Managing Director, Solex Energy Limited, said: “Innovation has always been central to Solex’s growth journey. For three consecutive years at REI, we have introduced technologies that reflect our ambition to push the boundaries of solar manufacturing in India. With TAPI RQ, we are taking another step towards delivering higher efficiency, greater reliability and long-term value to our customers. Our vision extends beyond manufacturing capacity to building an integrated, technology driven solar ecosystem that strengthens India’s self-reliance and global competitiveness. As we advance towards Vision 2030, our commitment remains firmly rooted in innovation, quality and supporting the national ambition of AatmaNirbhar Bharat.”
Vision 2030
Under Vision 2030, Solex aims to build a fully integrated renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem. It comprises 10 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity, 10 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) manufacturing capacity and 2 GW of wafer and ingot manufacturing capacity, backed by a proposed investment of Rs 14,300 crore.
As part of this roadmap, the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat for an investment of Rs 4,000 crore. It covers a 5-GW solar cell manufacturing facility, to be developed in two phases of 2 GW and 3 GW, alongside a 10-GWh BESS manufacturing facility.
Distribution and operations
Solex is also seeking strategic partnerships with dealers and distributors across India and in international markets, including the United States and Europe, to strengthen its distribution network. Headquartered in Surat, Gujarat, the company operates an Industry 4.0-enabled, fully automated manufacturing facility at Tadkeshwar with a photovoltaic module production capacity of 4 GW.
