China Solar PV News Snippets: LONGi And TÜV Rheinland Publish White Paper & More – TaiyangNews

Leading vertically integrated PV manufacturer LONGi and TÜV Rheinland have jointly published a white paper on PV fire safety, outlining a ‘risk-consequence matrix’ and a fire-risk adjustment model to support scenario-based safety selection and long-term investment assessments for building-integrated PV applications.
TÜV Rheinland conducted seven specialized tests on LONGi’s Hi-MO X10 fire-resistant modules. After removing the bypass diode, the module underwent 30 hot-spot cycles without igniting or emitting smoke, reaching a peak temperature of 150.9°C. The module also completed 400 loaded temperature cycles and dynamic mechanical-load testing. Its external fire performance met Class A requirements of UL 790 and IEC 61730.
Energy storage and inverter manufacturer Deye plans to build a 16 GWh commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage production facility in Cixi, Zhejiang province.
Deye’s wholly owned subsidiary, Deye Storage Technology, recently won the bid for land-use rights for the 246,600 m² site for RMB 103.587 million. The project is planned in two phases: the first phase will have an annual production capacity of 7 GWh, and the second phase will add 9 GWh.
On the earnings side, Deye recently forecast its 9M 2026 net profit to grow 79.81% to 84.07% year-over-year (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
PV and battery equipment manufacturer LEAD has commissioned a nondestructive testing laboratory and opened inspection and validation services to the new energy, high-end 3C electronics, and advanced manufacturing sectors. The lab spans more than 2,000 m², including a 240 m² testing area in its first phase. It is equipped with multiple types of computed tomography (CT) systems, offering image resolutions up to 1 µm. Its capabilities include defect inspection of power batteries, PV modules, and key components for green-hydrogen electrolyzers.
LEAD said its lithium battery defect database contains more than 3 million samples. Routine X-ray testing can deliver reports within three to four days, while high-resolution CT scans typically require seven days. The company has also begun developing next-generation nondestructive testing technologies for emerging applications, including solid-state batteries and perovskite PV.
The Hebei Provincial Development and Reform Commission has launched a mechanism price auction for incremental wind and solar projects that reach full-capacity grid connection between June 1, 2025, and December 31, 2027. Wind and PV projects will have separate bidding processes.
The auction covers 60.01 TWh of electricity under the mechanism, including 19.101 TWh for solar PV. Bid prices for both technologies must fall between RMB 0.20/kWh and RMB 0.36/kWh. Each project may nominate no more than 80% of its output for coverage under the mechanism, and the minimum bid submission adequacy ratio is 125%. The mechanism price will apply for 10 years for wind projects and 12 years for PV projects.
PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturer JinkoSolar forecasts a net loss attributable to shareholders of RMB 2.976 billion to RMB 3.576 billion for the first nine months (9M) of 2026, compared with a loss of RMB 3.92 billion in the same period last year. Net loss excluding non-recurring items is expected to range from RMB 3.811 billion to RMB 4.411 billion, compared with RMB 4.543 billion a year earlier.
The company attributed the narrower loss to progress in TOPCon 3.0 production-line upgrades and capacity ramp-up in Q3 2026, continued production cost optimization, and a higher share of high-power products in shipments. Its energy storage business also saw shipment growth and recognized revenue, and began contributing operating profit during this period.
Last month, JinkoSolar revealed its plans to invest RMB1.792 billion in its Yuanhua base in Haining, Zhejiang province (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
