They’ll be giving a presentation on their opposition of Rosefield Solar Farm.
The group will be attending a solar action summit in Parliament this evening (26/10), after being invited by organiser MP Caroline Johnson to give a 5 minute talk on the project.
Claydons Solar Action Group formed after Rosefield was first proposed in 2023, opposing the site on the grounds that it would use up acres of "good agricultural farmland" whilst swallowing up most of the villages of East and Botolph Claydon.
They also told Bucks Radio that the farm's construction would also entail "2-1/2 years of more misery" on local roads with traffic and noise. They also claimed "the cumulative impacts of Rosefield Solar farm with East West Rail, HS2, Statera BESS (battery energy storage system), Statkraft BESS, the Mega Prison at Grendon, the new double the size substation at East Claydon and other Solar and BESS planned in our small area will destroy our countryside."
Rosefield's own website says the proposed 675 acre site would provide enough clean energy to power more than 57,000 homes.
It's expected between 30-50 people will attend the event tonight, comprising of MP’s, fellow opposition groups and the general public. Discussions are expected to cover other nationally significant infrastructure projects like Rosefield, battery energy storage systems and fire safety.
As an exhibition celebrating their history continues this week, Community lead Simon Lacey explains why football's more than just a game.
It comes after Government accept all recommendations of a review into antisemitism in schools.
It comes after their official unveiling earlier this month (09/10).
They say it gives people the chance to make a real difference to their communities.
They're also inviting local children to name one.
They've written to Buckinghamshire councillors Mike Collins and Steve Bowles about the issues facing the village.
It comes as part of a joint effort between the Thames Valley Police Proactive Team and Metropolitan Police.
The Council told Bucks Radio the programme is not impacted by recent reports of Government axing road schemes.
