Digital lending platform Fibe and Canadian fintech-for-cleantech company Hygge Energy Inc. have partnered to integrate digital energy infrastructure with loan financing.
In a press release, Fibe explained that the collaboration aims to simplify the loan financing process for rooftop solar customers and catalyse the adoption of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana across India.
As rooftop solar adoption continues to grow across India, digital platforms can play an important role in connecting households with solar providers and financing solutions. Hygge Energy facilitates peer-to-peer rooftop solar energy trading in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Its digital marketplace enables rooftop solar producers and prosumers to trade electricity directly with other consumers, thereby enhancing the economic value of rooftop solar installations.
Having established the infrastructure for a rooftop solar energy trading marketplace, Hygge Energy is now extending its platform to support rooftop solar financing through its partnership with Fibe.
Fibe is a digital consumer lending platform focused on young, aspirational, and tech-savvy Indian consumers. It provides financial assistance to middle-income and underserved groups to help them fulfil their aspirations.
Its range of financial products includes impact loans for sectors such as healthcare and education, as well as rooftop solar financing. The company has also launched digital fixed deposits (FDs), loans against mutual funds, and long-term personal loans. Fibe’s financial solutions are designed for individuals seeking digitally accessible and manageable credit options.
By digitally connecting customers with solar providers and financing opportunities, the partnership aims to expand customer reach, simplify access to loans, and support wider adoption of rooftop solar financing across India.
Commenting on the announcement, Akshay Mehrotra, Managing Director and Group CEO of Fibe, said, “By combining Hygge’s digital energy marketplace with Fibe’s lending capabilities, we aim to simplify the financing journey and support the wider adoption of clean energy across India.”
Prateek Saxena, Founder and CEO of Hygge Energy, said, “We are pleased to announce our first partnership with one of India’s leading digital consumer lenders, Fibe. By integrating Fibe’s financing capabilities with our Canadian-developed digital infrastructure for India’s rooftop solar market, we aim to demonstrate asset tokenization and loan financing, bringing together digital finance and clean energy.”
