Chinese PV module manufacturer Trinasolar will unveil a full-black dual-glass TOPCon solar module for residential and commercial and industrial (C&I) applications at the All Energy Australia conference starting in Melbourne on Wednesday.
Edison Zhou, Trina’s head of operations in Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands, said the “Australian-exclusive” Vertex S+ G3 Full Black solar module marks the return of the company’s all-black offering, combining its distinctive design with next-generation TOPCon 3.0 technology.
“Black is back with more power, greater efficiency and next-generation solar technology,” he said. “The Vertex S+ G3 combines the premium all-black design customers want with the performance and reliability they expect from Trinasolar.”
The Vertex S+ G3 is built on Trinasolar’s n-type i-TOPCon Ultra technology, and features “zero-gap” stacked welding and “zero-string bar” technologies.
Trinasolar is offering five variants, with power output ranging from 490 W to 510 W and power conversion efficiencies between 23.5% and 24.4%. Open-circuit voltage ranges from 39.4 V to 40.0 V, while short-circuit current is between 15.91 A and 15.97 A.
The panels feature 1.6 mm glass front and back in a black anodised aluminium frame. They measure 1,842 mm x 1,134 mm x 30 mm and weigh 21.95 kg.
They can be deployed in systems with a maximum voltage of 1,500 V and feature IP68-rated junction boxes. The temperature coefficient is -0.26% per C, with an operating temperature range of -40 C to 70 C.
The modules are backed by a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty. First-year degradation is specified at less than 1.0%, with 30-year end-of-life output guaranteed at no less than 88.5% of nominal power.
Trinasolar said the new panels are compatible with mainstream inverters and diverse mounting systems and have been manufactured in response to “strong demand from Australian homeowners, businesses and installers for high-performance solar that doesn’t compromise on appearance.”
The Vertex S+ G3 is part of a broader product portfolio that Trinasolar will unveil at All Energy.
The company will also use the event to launch its C&I Integrated Engineering & Solutions product, that will combine project-specific engineering, system optimisation and selective components sourcing, including solar modules, mounting and tracking systems, and battery energy storage solutions (BESS).
Trinasolar said the expansion of the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) on 1 October 2026 to qualifying solar installations above 100 kW and up to 1 MW creates new opportunities for C&I solar.
“As C&I projects increasingly integrate solar, battery storage and energy management technologies, Trina Solutions provides tailored support through close consultation with a dedicated team, leveraging global engineering experience to address immediate priorities and anticipate future needs,” the company said, adding that “businesses and developers can benefit from integrated energy solutions, while EPCs and system integrators can leverage Trinasolar’s technologies and expertise to complement their existing capabilities for end-to-end project execution.”
Trinasolar also said it would use the All Energy event to showcase its wider solar and energy storage portfolio, including the 6.25 MWh Elementa 3 battery, which brings together DC technology with AC-side integration capabilities.
