“Utility-scale solar sites present one of the most demanding operational environments in off-road autonomy: narrow clearances, dense panel shadows, GPS-degraded zones and zero tolerance for infrastructure strikes,” said Colin Hurd, CEO of Mach. “By delivering our full-stack autonomy as a Tier-1 partner to commercial equipment OEMs, we provide solar asset owners with the rugged, dealer-supported machinery they already trust, supercharged with driverless capability. This ecosystem approach enables solar developers to scale vegetation management across gigawatts while giving equipment manufacturers an immediate, turnkey path to lead the autonomous solar market.”
Using Mach’s proprietary RTK-GNSS automation infrastructure, mowers are designed to work automatically in conditions with dusty, tall grass and sun glare while avoiding structural and electrical elements on solar arrays. These mowers can be deployed on multiple sites and managed by a single operator.
Maintenance is still available through the mower’s original manufacturer, since Mach’s platform integrates with existing machines. Mach will showcase its autonomous solar mowing platform at RE+ 26, from Nov. 16 to 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center at Booth W16676
