India Solar PV News Snippets: RenewSys Secures 1.2 GW Supply Agreement With Kosol Energie & More – TaiyangNews

RenewSys India has secured a 1.2 GW supply order for solar PV encapsulants and backsheets from Kosol Energie. Under the 12-month agreement from October 2026 to September 2027, RenewSys will supply its CONSERV POE encapsulants and PRESERV backsheets to the Gujarat-based module manufacturer for its high-efficiency n-type TOPCon module production. This includes glass-to-backsheet modules produced at Kosol’s Gujarat factory. The deal follows an earlier 1.1 GW POE encapsulant supply agreement between the two companies that concluded in September 2026. RenewSys operates 17 GW of encapsulants, 4 GW of backsheets, and 5.6 GW of module production capacity. It is also installing a 2.7 GW solar cell line.
Saatvik Green Energy Limited has commenced commercial production at its Gopalpur, Odisha factory effective November 2, 2026. Its wholly owned subsidiary, Saatvik Solar Industries Private Limited, has begun commercial production under Phase I, with an installed capacity of around 1.3 GW. It is part of the 4 GW project the company announced in its IPO (see India’s Saatvik Solar Seeking INR 11.5 Billion Through IPO). The remaining capacity will be commissioned in phases.
French energy group ENGIE has commissioned two solar projects in India with a combined capacity of 450 MW. These facilities comprise the 250 MW Khaba Solar Plant in Barmer, Rajasthan, and the 200 MW Khavda Solar Project in Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch. These facilities will generate close to 650 GWh and 350 GWh annually, respectively. The Khavda project is contracted to supply power to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA). This expands ENGIE’s total renewable energy capacity in India, under operation or under construction, to around 2 GW.
Waaree Energies Limited has approved the acquisition of a 33.34% equity stake in Wictor Sealz Private Limited, a manufacturer of solar module sealants and specialty chemicals. It will acquire 3,334 equity shares in Wictor Sealz for INR 33,340 from Vimac Impex Private Limited. Following the acquisition, Waaree will make an additional investment of INR 5 crore in the company. March 31, 2027 is the long-stop date for the investment. With this investment, Waaree says it aims to strengthen its supply chain integration, reduce dependence on imported solar module sealants, and improve supply security. Wictor Sealz was incorporated in January 2026 and has yet to commence business operations. The acquisition is expected to be completed in FY 2026-27. Separately, Waaree Energies has also completed the acquisition of a 100% equity stake in Waaree Green Data Centers Private Limited (WGDCPL).
Essar Renewables Limited (ERL), the renewable energy arm of India’s Essar Power, has signed a PPA with state-owned NHPC Limited for a 300 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project in Andhra Pradesh. Essar Power plans to invest close to INR 4,500 crore in the project that will integrate solar, wind, and a battery energy storage system (BESS). The company says this project is part of its plans to build a diversified energy portfolio of around 5 GW spanning renewable, thermal, and gas-based power generation assets.
